Grandma May's Applesauce Cookies (Makes 6 doz.)

1 c. Shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. Soda
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves (opt)
2 c. Chocolate chips
2 c. Sugar
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. applesauce

Directions
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix dry ingredients and to cream mixture along with applesauce.
Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375ยบ for 10 minutes.
Makes soft, fluffy cookies.
